J-Link is a USB JTAG dongle from the company Segger. It is very commonly bundled with evaluation boards from some other companies.

Features

  • Atmel AT91SAM7 ARM 7 microcontroller
    • This allows the dongle to do lowlevel JTAG communication actions in high speed without involvement from the PC. This is faster compared to bitbanging done in the commonly used FTD2232 based JTAG dongles.
  • Two ALVC164245 levelshifter transceivers
    • This provides support for 1.2V-3.3V targets and 5V tollerance
